The Burning of Fossil Fuels

A History of the use of Fossil Fuels

The world today relies on fossil fuels for many things. Wether it's filling our cars, running our factories, heating or cooling our homes or running our appliances fossil fuels give power to many things. However the constant use of it is having some serious effects on our environment and planet such as global warming. Global Warming, is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth's climate. This is a serious problem,  as the earth warms storms intensify, water levels rise and weather patterns that have been set for 100's of years change.

Technological Fixes

Since global warming has such a looming presence there has been efforts to create technology to combat the ever growing problem. Cleaner forms of energy such a solar power, hydropower and wind power have all been considered as a replacement for the harmful fuels.

There are now cleaner cars that run on electricity and cleaner homes that use solar power. Since one of the major contributing factors to global warming is cars, having this new technology will greatly reduce the amount of emissions we let back into our environment.

Social Engineering

There have been attempts of social engineering on global warming. One huge one is education. There are many websites that help teach people how to reduce their carbon footprint whether it be driving a driving a Green Car or making more of a effort to recycle waste instead of just throwing it away.
Many websites offer tips and tricks to help people learn different ways they can improve the Earth and reduce global warming.

Overview

Although many steps have been taken in order to try and fix the problem of global warming, its not easy task. Its going to take a mass effort of everyone on this planet to correct and fix this ever growing problem. Through education and the inventions of smarter green technology perhaps the issues of global warming will one day be solved. If not, we will be leaving a very sick Earth for future generations to come.
